2012 Indoor Track & Field College Conference Weekend

Tom is Coach Dean Hays former track team manager and mr do-it-all at Hardin Central High School in Hardin, Missouri and the former University of Missouri Track and Field Sports Information Director.

The Big 12, ACC, SEC, MAC, and MPSF (pac 12,west coast teams) meets are live on the web as is Washington University in STL conference meet, the UAA in New York.

Missouri Southern hosts 2012 MIAA Indoors

The Mid-America Athletic Association meet is going on at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin this weekend. The multi-events got under Friday with more today and tomorrow.
The MIAA is one of the best NCAA DII conferences in the country in all sports as well as track and field, and has some phenomenal athletes and teams. This is a great opportunity to see some great track.

Six Missourians set for 2012 USA Track and Field Indoor Championships





Six Missourians will compete this weekend in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the USA Track and Field Indoor National Championships with spots on Team USA for the World Indoor Championships up for grabs. 

Christian Cantwell will look for another US shot put title on Sunday with hopes of another World Indoor title in two weeks. Three first year post-collegians will take their shots at medals and making Team USA. NCAA Division I All-Americans: Gwen Berry-Weight Throw, Vera Neuenswander-pole vault, will look to make an impact on the national scene and gain some attention from sponsors. NCAA Division II National Champion Ramon Sparks will try to join former Raytown South High School teammate Maurice Mitchell in making a recent World Championship team. Mitchell ran a leg on the US 4x100 relay squad in the preliminaries at the 2011 World Outdoor Championships. 

Shannon Leinert will look to make her second US World Team. The former Missouri State Champ and High School All-American at Eureka High School, who had a successful collegiate career at Florida and Missouri, made the World Junior Championships team in 2005 or so in the 800 meters. She's in graduate school at Mizzou and being coached by Ben Rosario from Big River Running Company.
