Coach Todd Cooper Just Vault
Todd Cooper is the pole vault coach for his club Just Vault. He is the former state champion vaulter from Excelsior Springs. He went on to earn All-American honors at Baylor University and became a world class vaulter. He coached at Baylor before returning to Excelsior Springs where he coached at the ESHS before concentrating on his club and he and his wife’s track equipment business two years ago. He has coached many of the top vaulters in Missouri and Kansas, including Mizzou All-American Brian Hancock and two of the current top boys in the nation: Casey Bowen of Kansas and Joey Burkett of Jefferson City.
Coach Toby Glavin Jefferson City High School
Toby Glavin replaces his former coach MTCCCA Hall of Famer Jim
Marshall as the Jefferson City High School 1600/3200 distance coach for the
track program. Glavin was a letterman in cross country and track for the Jays
and was on four state trophy teams including the 1996 Class 4 State Champion
Cross Country team. He began his collegiate career at University of Missouri
Rolla before finishing at Southwest Missouri State (Missouri State). While in
Springfield he also helped coach the Greenwood HS team before returning to
Jefferson City where he has coached at Thomas Jefferson City Middle School and
the high school. He is an assistant cross country coach at JCHS.
Head Coach Dan Ridgeway Jefferson City High School
Dan Ridgeway is in his second year as Head Coach of the
Jefferson City High School Track and Field program having replaced legendary
coach Dennis Licklider. Before JC, he coached at Crystal City where he led the
girls program to the Class 2 State Title in 2006. He helped Precious Selmon
become one of the top hurdler and long jumpers in state history. Selmon is now
a multi-event athlete at the University of New Mexico.
