The Senior Women’s Heptathlon got under way Saturday and after 4 of 7 events “Missourians” sit in 7th, 8th, and 11th: Chantae McMillan, Liz Roehrig, and Lindsay Lettow.  Two Missouri Senior Women earned top 8 finishes in the throws. Gwen Berry took 6th in the Hammer while Brittany Borman took 7th in the Javelin. Both were less than 8’ behind third place and a possible spot on Team USA.

Richard Lowe finished 11th in the 400 Hurdles Semifinals while Miles Smith came up just short of making his second World Championships Team. Smith finished 6th in the 400 final. That probably won’t be good enough to earn him a spot for the 4x400 team pool, which he did accomplish in 2005. Christine Spence missed making her first World Championship team after taking 6th in the 400 hurdles final.

In the Junior Women’s 400 Final Montenea Roye took 5th and was the high school finisher. She probably won’t make the 4x400 pool for the Pan-Am Junior Champs next month. In the Junior Women’s 800 Samantha Levin took 3rd while Kianna Ruff was 6th. It has been reported that Levin will make the Junior women’s Pan-Am Champs team, though the top 2 qualify one of them may not be able to compete.

Tiffani McReynolds, just a freshman a Baylor advanced to the Senior Women’s 100 Hurdles Semi finals, while Maurice Mitchell did the same in the Senior Men’s 200.
